Hangzhou's tea is the way in. Shaoxing's canals, calligraphy and rice wine carry the rest. Each day has one main cultural task. Times below are planning windows, not timetables.

Move to Shaoxing, check in at Yuecheng old town

Two ways to compare: national rail via 12306, or Hangzhou Metro Line 5 to Guniangqiao, then the intercity line to China Textile City in Keqiao (about 26.5 min). That line stops short of Yuecheng.

Before you leave

  • Re-check trains, buses and opening hours within 72 hours of departure. Operators change them without notice.
  • Carry your passport. Some museum and ticket counters ask for it.
  • Download the trip file on Wi-Fi before you set out.
  • If the Anchang return is unclear on the day, stay in Yuecheng. The fallback table shows what to do instead.
